Situated in the heart of Stellenbosch, the FAMOHOF Apartments are light and spacious, and perfect for a short stay in this beautiful historic town. Comprising two bedrooms (one king and one twin) and a large bath/shower room, open plan living room, dining (or working) area and a well equipped kitchen. The apartments also benefit from a spacious balcony and secure parking. A variety of restaurants, bars, eclectic shops, historic buildings and the University are all just a few minutes walk away. The space: This stylish and tranquil apartment is the perfect base for both tourists and business travellers, offering easy access to Cape Town International Airport, the Cape Winelands, and the charming old town of Stellenbosch. Convenient Location: Whether you're here to explore the beauty of the Winelands or discover the historic charm of Stellenbosch, you'll appreciate the apartment's prime location. The vibrant Old Town is just a short stroll away, offering a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Cape Town International Airport is just a 30-minute drive, and the world-renowned Winelands are easily accessible for day trips. Guest access: Entrance Gate: Upon arrival, you will find a pedestrian gate with a code for access. The code will be provided to you before your arrival. Key Collection: Details will be given to guests on the day of arrival. Apartment Location: The apartment is located on the first floor. At the top of the stairs, turn left, and it’s the last door on your left. Please note there is no elevator, so be prepared to use the stairs. Parking: A lock-up garage is provided for your convenience, and remote access is included in the key lockbox. The garage gate (to the left of the pedestrian entrance) is activated by the weight of your vehicle. The gate can only be opened by pressing the blue button on the remote, but it will only work when your vehicle is close enough to the gate. If the gate does not open, you may not be close enough to trigger the sensor. Other things to note, I always strive to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. However, in the rare event that you experience any issues, such as the stove running out of gas or the electricity needing to be topped up, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Inventory · Reporting Issues: If you notice any damage or missing items, please inform your host promptly. Safety & Security · Fire Extinguisher: Located outside the front door. · Lock Up: Always lock the front door and security gate when leaving. · Gate Protocol: Wait for the car gate to close completely before leaving. · Access Rules: Do not grant access to anyone unfamiliar to you at the pedestrian or car gates. · Delivery Instructions: Deliveries must be collected at the pedestrian gate. · Security Cameras: Cameras are installed for outdoor security only. · Safety Equipment: Please do not tamper with any safety equipment. · Key Return: When checking out, please hang the keys on the hook in the post box to secure them. Cleanliness · Personal Responsibility: Please clean up after yourself and leave the apartment as you found it. · Garbage Disposal: Dispose of garbage thoughtfully: use the kitchen bin for wet/sticky waste. · Chewing Gum: Wrap used chewing gum in paper before disposing of it. · Bag Removal: Full garbage bags can be left outside your apartment door in the mornings; inform your host for removal. Additional garbage bags are available in the kitchen drawer. Kitchen Use · Clean Up: Please clean up after using the kitchen and appliances, and handle them carefully to avoid scratches. · Dishes: Wash and put away all dishes before checking out. · Conservation: Be mindful of energy consumption and water usage. · Drain Care: Do not pour fat or oil down the drains; use kitchen paper towels instead. Your comfort and peace of mind are important to us. The property is enclosed by an electric fence with security cameras, and each apartment has its own security gate. There’s a lock-up garage for guests as well as extra on-site parking, and well-lit passages for when you return in the evening. To help keep the premises safe, we have simple gate and lock-up protocols in place. We kindly ask guests to follow these guidelines, especially regarding gate access, deliveries, safety equipment, and key return on checkout. Parking
We provide one lock-up garage for each apartment, along with extra outside parking on the premises. The property is fenced with electric fencing and monitored by security cameras for your peace of mind. If you need additional parking, just let us know before your arrival so we can make arrangements. For security purposes, we’ll ask for your vehicle’s type, colour, and registration number. Please use your designated parking space and avoid blocking driveways or other vehicles.

Loadshedding Info
In South Africa, the national electricity supplier, ESKOM, occasionally implements scheduled power outages — known as loadshedding— to balance demand on the electricity grid. While this doesn’t happen every day, it can occur from time to time. We will notify you if loadshedding is scheduled during your stay. You are also welcome to check the schedule yourself using the ESKOM ESP loadshedding app. FamoHof falls under theStellenbosch (Zone 2)area. What We’ve Put in Place for Your Comfort To make loadshedding as convenient as possible for our guests, the following measures are available: Pedestrian gate, car gates, and garage doorsrun on backup batteries and remain functional. Wi-Fi routerhas a backup battery lasting up to 5 hours. Rechargeable LED lanternsare available in your broom cupboard. Extra tea lights and a lightercan be found in the grey plastic tray in your dining room cupboard. Gas stoveis available for cooking during power outages.
